It's better than giving 'stuff' they don't want and is something that all the family can contribute to. Prices from $400. Contact Rebecca now on 0401 808 335 to ensure your unique gift is ready for Christmas! I am so happy that I was able to help someone at a terribly difficult time for them. It concerned the daughter of a lady whose life story book I had produced. Not long after the interview the mother's health started to go rapidly downhill. When she died the daughter phoned to let me know and to say how happy she was that the book had been done just in time. The funeral was to be in a couple of days and I asked if there was anything I could do to help as I knew how busy she would be at this sad time. As people do, she said 'no'. But, as I had all the information on her mum plus photos on my computer I decided to write a eulogy for her for the funeral and to make a video of her mum's photos set to music. As a celebrant I also had some beautiful poems on file so chose a relevant one to email to her. After the funeral she phoned to say how grateful she was for my help. She had read out the poem herself and given the eulogy to the vicar to read. Plus, she and everyone at the funeral had adored the video. The joy I felt at helping her was utterly priceless!
This is a picture of my grandmother having a rare meal outdoors with my mum, brother and me. She told me so many wonderful and fascinating stories of her life as a child growing up in the Victorian era - but she died when I was very young, and not old enough to have recorded any of those stories. I so regret it now as, alas, I have forgotten most of them |
