I'm just putting the finishing touches to an incredible book created from letters - painstakingly translated into English - written from one Ukrainian brother to another detailing his life during the Moscow Bolshevik occupation. Not an easy book to write - or to read - but it makes up a unique and important part of world history.
A few years ago I produced a hardback book plus an e-book detailing part of my life as a special gift for my daughter. It led to my business, Your Life Story Written, producing people's Life Story Books. Little did I know it would lead to even more amazing discoveries. So many people from my past who I'd lost touch with for more than 50 years contacted me, having discovered the e-book on the internet. And now, for one, I am creating a book from a story her father wrote before his death. And when I go back to England soon I am going to meet up with her - and her mother again. It just goes to show the incredible power of life stories - and of course - the internet!
I love Snoopy and I know just how hard it is to write your own life story. Where to start? What to include? If you've tried writing your story and have become stuck or overwhelmed why not let me help you? Life story books are my passion and I've produced many of them for people all round the world. Recalling your life has so many health benefits and once your story is finished it makes the best gift for future generations.
I'm very excited to be invited to give a talk on Life Stories to the U3A next month. I'm so passionate about the importance of recalling your life that I may have to severely limit myself in what I say! There are so many health benefits, both physical and mental, from reminiscing on one's life and I reckon a life story is the best gift you can ever give your children, grandchildren and all those generations yet to come. I've just finished off two huge books and am about to embark on two more. My second book in the Gift to my Daughter series is still lingering in the wings... Each one is a labour of love - and there is no doubt in my mind that I love it!
He began life in abject poverty, moving to Mt Isa where he lived in a humpy. During his life he made millions - and lost millions - found happiness but endured almost unbearable sorrow. Such an inspiring story which will fascinate his family and others for generations to come. It took a while to create but this wonderful 300-page book is now in the printing stage. I can't wait to see it!
Nobody has a perfect life, all of ours are full of ups and downs. But without the downs you don't experience the highs that make everything worthwhile.
While so many of us think our lives have not been 'interesting' - that is far from the truth!
Everyone during their lifetime has touched a multitude of people in so many different ways and I believe their experiences deserved to be remembered.
What better way than in a life story book that can be handed down through the generations? It is the only guaranteed form of immortality that I, for one, know about!
I've been contacted by a lady in the US who has just started writing her life story and wants me to design the book for her once she has finished. I am so happy to do this plus give her all the support I can, anything from advising on structure, linking chapters, giving encouragement and proofing the end copy. I think everyone's story is worth telling and a life story book is the best gift you can leave for future generations. As the Life Story Lady I am happy to help anyone with this really worthwhile quest !
