I see my job as helping to make their dream come true. As a result I will edit, rewrite or write their story from scratch and I help and encourage nervous writers along their journey. Then when they are happy with their final draft I design the book and get it published for them.
Writing your own life story isn't easy - but with help it is possible. First of all, you know your story better than anyone else, and this a huge plus. But knowing where to start and what to include is the hard part.
Tip No. 1. Start writing down your memories! Dot points are fine to get the memories flowing. It's easiest to start from your childhood and your earliest memory. Then try and remember where you were, how you felt, what was going through your mind. Think back to what you could smell and hear. This is the first exercise in writing a compelling memoir.
