They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
Each Anzac Day I remember my dear friend Eric Abraham, the last of the 'Diggers' who served in WWI. He was there in the thick of it, including the Battle of the Somme...he lived until he was 105 and I celebrated his last five birthdays with him in Brisbane...he shared his memories with me, he was one remarkable man... I will always remember him.

My dad served in WWII but he never spoke about it. I've discovered that so many other people won't talk about their experiences during the war to their families - but will open up to me, a stranger. Why is this? During the War' Post Traumatic Stress' didn't have a name, I am guessing it was still 'shell shock.' Talking about traumatic experiences has a hugely beneficial effect on us, both physically and mentally, helping us come to terms with what went on as well as boosting boosts our immune in four different ways. How can we persuade our loved ones to talk about the past? Any ideas????? "No one else can speak the words on your lips. Drench yourself in words unspoken. Live your life with arms wide open. Today is where your book begins. The rest is still unwritten." - Natasha Bedingfield There's no time like the present to grab an opportunity with arms wide open and get your life story or that of a loved one written.
